Im a Board Member for an HOA and recently our Property Mgr obtained a contract for a printer. Its a $4000 printer leased for 5 years and past 10 mos we have paid $2100.00. The printer is for a clubhouse not a business and contract was never ok'd by other board members and the PM slipped it to one of our members and told him to sign it, which he did w/o reading it. Now we have the most expensive printer and the office is manned 12 days a month and he really doesn't know how to work it - no manual available. Tried to renegotiate contract and in the contract it states, no renegotiations, no cancellation, irrevocable and no termination. What kind of contract is this? We simply cannot afford this contract. We only give permission to buy an $800 printer and the PM bought this and never told any of us how much it was. Is there something we can do?
