My dog was killed in May at a doggie boarding/grooming facility, I have been a groomer there for almost 3 years at the time and was told that the safest place for my dog to be was in the "kitchen area" with all of the toy breeds, I was finishing my last grooming client when a employee came running in the salon with my lifeless dog in her arms screaming she didn't know who happened and threw her in my arms. I ran outside where th daycare staff was and demanded what happened, while asking the same employee that bright her to me to take her to the emergency vet. At this time I was in shock and wanted to finish what I was doing because I didn't want to have to come back if something bad happened. Every employee had no idea what happened to my dog, apparently they were doing a shift change and nobody was watching them. I then left to the emergency vets office and when I got there they said they tried to revive her several times but she was gone and had died of puncture wounds to her abdominal area/ Chest and back. I had to pay for the emergency visit and the cremation of my dog, the owner of the daycare didn't even bother to try to pay for any of the expenses. They didn't even tell the owners of the 2 possible dogs that killed her what happened. I asked for a few days leave because of being so upset about everything and come to find out while I was gone the owners typed up something that everyone had to sign that works there that if your dog dies in their care you cannot do anything legally because you arnt a paying customer, which I never signed I was just told about. The owners then said that if anyone were to speak of this they would sue for slander, I am not employed with this place anymore but I was threatened when I did leave again that they would file a lawsuit if I ever tell a soul about what happened, I want justice for my Rue, she doesn't deserve this and her life was cut too short. Is there anything I can do? Also this place has had a few other deaths happened at this facility one of which was blasted over the news last year and they sued the owner of slander as well.
